Last weekend at Artworks Foundry something unusual happened. After the shop shut down it became the back drop for a new film being produced by Berkeley film students.
The film is written and directed by Raymond Swanland. For his first project the director was looking for some places around the bay area that could be interesting and convinient to bring all the staff and gear. As he was already familiar with the bronze foundry activities, he saw in Artworks Foundry an exciting place to incorporate into the film.
He contacted Artworks with the idea and we were excited to be part of the arts and another artists vision in this way. The film loosely translates into images, questions about human spirituality, and life after death. the shooting is to be done primarily during the night, to create a mysterious atmosphere and to avoid the everyday work activity.
Artworks is happy of be part of this amazing experience and to encourage this important medium of artistic expression, that is the visual art.
