Visions of Our 44th President is a collective sculptural show created to recognize and celebrate the historical significance of the first African American President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.
The Exhibition is composed by 44 artists’ interpretations of a Barack Obama’s bust sculpted by the artist Matthew Gonzalez and initially given to the artists as a blank canvas. Imagination, creativity and symbolism lead the process of creation and the results are really inspiring.
Artworks Foundry are happy twice with this exhibition! First because Mathew Gonzalez contacted us to cast in bronze one of the busts. And also because Mildred Howard, another Artworks’ client, was one of the 44 artists chosen to collaborate with this project.
Visions of Our 44th President will debut in July 2012 at The Wright Museum, in Detroit. Later it will travel to prestigious museums, universities, libraries and galleries across the country.

I am trying to find out the results of this contest. I am assuming that it was some sort of contest where a winner was identified. Please let me know the status – I know a few of the artists and there seems to be no closure here. It will be significant for them to know the result of their effort.
